Web Quest Link for Group Presentation - presentations begin Friday, May 6th!
Why does Sophocles tell THIS story?
Before we begin reading Oedipus Rex, we are going to do some research and present our findings to the class in order to better understand the reasons why Sophocles tells this ancient tale in a dramatic format. You have already been assigned to a group. Now it is time to get to work! End Product: By the end of this project each group will have researched one topic, created a Google Slides presentation for the class, and presented their findings in a group, oral presentation. To make this happen, you will need to do the following:
Step 1: Click on Web Quest Link above to find resources about your given topic. Spend 10-15 minutes browsing the websites to become familiar with your topic and the essential questions that will guide your presentation.
Step 2: Work with your group to decide who will be responsible for what information and assign homework tasks. Be sure to address all questions! Each 'page' has its own list of questions that pertain specifically to your topic. I will be checking in with all group members daily to assess your progress.
Step 3: Using Google Slides, create a presentation that is informative and easy to read. Please use visuals when appropriate. While you will have some class time to complete this assignment, much of the work will be done outside of class. By using Google Slides you can easily work on the presentation by sharing it with group members.
Step 4: Decide who will present what information to the class. Each group member must speak and will be graded individually on his/her oral presentation skills.
Step 5: Practice your presentation! You will be provided with a detailed rubric for grading.
